Your Best Road Bike

The decision about which is the best road bike for you is achieved by careful consideration and knowing what to look for when shopping.

There are a wide variety of road bikes on the market today.

You can find a bike for short, tall, or average height people. Do you know what "average height" really means....me neither!

You can also find an entry level road bike or an upgrade from the bike you already have.

What is Your Idea of Comfort?

Comfort on a bike is purely subjective! What you find comfortable on a bike might not work for your riding partner.

There are a few tips to remember, to make your riding experience more enjoyable.

Best Road BikeYour first tip is, for a seat/saddle, softer is not necessarily better!

Just because the seat is really padded does not mean it will make your bottom less sore.

It will most likely do the opposite.

The reason it will do the opposite is because the seat, if too soft, moves to much with your body movements.

This causes additional friction which results in greater soreness!

Your cycling shorts are what should provide the greatest amount of the padding and added comfort.

For greatest long-term comfort make sure your bike is sized correctly for you.

Test-ride lots of different brands to determine which one is most comfortable for you.

Once you find the brand you like, ride a frame which is the correct size for your body size.

After that ride a frame one size smaller with a longer stem.

A smaller frame with a longer stem makes the bike a bit stiffer. A stiffer frame provides better handling.

Who is Your Maker?

Now you know what to look for.

You will now find out who makes the best road bike for you!

There are many different road bike makers, but you will find the most common ones below:Best Road Bike
And the list keeps going... And going... Whew, it is finally done!!
The majority of the above makers have a very similar line up of road bikes.

You will be able to get an aluminum, aluminum and carbon fiber mix, and full carbon fiber bikes.

The aluminum will be the least expensive but heaviest.

The aluminum and carbon fiber mix makes for a very versatile bike at a very good price.

Your aluminum/carbon fiber mix bike will be lighter than a fully aluminum bike.

With the carbon fiber portion of the bike you will get better road handling from your bike.

With the mass production of full carbon fiber bikes the prices have come down on these bikes.

You could probably get a great carbon fiber bike at a good price, if you are patient enough and continue looking.

As with other products, when the manufacturer changes model years you can get a great bike for a discount.

Building a good relationship with the owner or manager of your local bike shop could get you a great deal on your bike too.

They can help you know when the best deals are and the best time to buy.

You have now received some useful tips on how you can get the most comfortable and best road bike for you at the best price.

Now get out there and have a great time riding!
