Many years ago their was a young man really excited to be in his first race. When race day came the young man got to the starting line early enough to be towards the front of the pack. Eventually the race started and the racers were off! Due to construction, the race did not start off as fast as it usually does so the pack did not have a chance to spread out. The lack of the pack or peloton spreading cased a pile up within the first 25 miles of a 100+ mile race. There was a half a dozen or so people involved. Some got more than road rash. Others sustained little to no injury. The result of the bicycle crash for this young man was a minimal amount of road rash and a bent bicycle frame. The young man was disappointed on not being able to finish his first race. He learned from that race and went on to race in other races and did rather well. You should take the time to learn what you can do better with every crash or set back. You never know when a cycling crash is going to take place or who might be watching armed with a camera. Not all bicycle crash pictures are painful in nature some can be rather humorous. You might not think so if you are the one it happens to, others probably will though.
