Road Bike Handlebars, Who Makes Them?

Road bike handlebars come in two basic styles, flat and drop!

Most mountain bikes have flat handlebars. Road bikes usually have drop handlebars.

What you will find here will be about drop handlebars. You will probably find most makers do make both kinds.

So What are the Advantages of Drop Handlebars?

Cycling drop handlebars offer so many more hand potions than flat bars do.

You will find you can also get much better aerodynamics, by being able to get lower on your bike.

There is at least 5 different hand positions on drop bars you can take advantage of!

Who Makes These Road Bike Handlebars?

There are a variety of makers of bicycle handle bars.

You will find handlebars made by:road bike handlebars
  • Specialized
  • Campagnolo
  • Enve (used to be Edge)
  • Deda
  • Easton
  • 3T
  • Plus many others!
Deda and 3T make an aluminum anatomical handlebar which can be more comfortable for you. You should check them out, if you are looking for a more comfortable handlebar.

Specialized and Easton make composite (carbon fiber) and aluminum bars. You can get them in an ergonomic design too!

Edge only makes composite handlebars! Their handlebars are made to an optimal diameter for a guaranteed wonderful physiological fit. This promotes a natural hand position.

Do You Know What to Look for?

The general rule to follow for handlebar width is the width of your shoulders.

Road bike handle bars come in sizes from 38 cm to 48 cm. In some applications you can find them wider, such as for cyclo cross.

When deciding on drop handle bars make sure the drops go back far enough. This allows your arms and shoulders to rest on long rides.
