You can get a
shoe for any riding situation you would find yourself in.
Here are some riding situations you could find yourself in:
- Touring

- Sport/Fitness
- Competitive
Their touring shoes are very similar to regular shoes. They have a
rubber sole for walking when your off your bike.
You will find a recessed area for the cleat to attach to the shoe and
pedal.
They have shoe strings to tie, to make them snug, just like regular
shoes.
Shimano's touring shoes are the kind of shoes you would see policemen
on bikes wearing.
The sport/fitness shoes are very similar to the competitive ones. You
will find a few distinct differences.
The sport/fitness shoes have a sole made of a fiberglass mixture. These
shoes still have great stiffness and lightweight.
They are not quite as light as the competitive shoes.
Your closure system on the sport/fitness and the competitive shoes are
the same.
You have two options for the closure system.
- Two loop and hook (Velcro) straps with a micro
adjust buckle
- Three loop and hook straps

Your
competitive riding shoes have a distinct advantage over the other shoes
offered by Shimano.
The advantage is you have a custom-fit option. This option makes it so
you can mold it to your foot. So you get a fit specific to you!
You can find Shimano cycling shoes in a price range you are comfortable
with.
You can have the custom-fit competitive shoes for less than $2 a day.
You can get a pair of the sport/fitness shoes for less than $.30 a day.
There really is a pair of shoes which can fit into your budget!!
